This pair of old Jasperware wall plaques draw your eyes and keep them affixed to these beautiful ladies. They're full of life...dancing happily against an olive green background. They're in white high relief, very detailed with flowing hair and sheer gauzy dresses. Each one holds a torch... reminiscent of the Olympic torch. One of the ladies has even charmed a bird into her hand.
These fine porcelain wall plaques measure 3 by 9 inches. These are marked along top rim...IMPORTE 3236 and number 74 on the back. We're not experts in these but from what we've seen, these definitely have the superb quality and beauty of makers like Schafer & Vater, Germany or Volkstedt.
Other than inherent nuances in porcelain, these are in excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks...no notable flaws. These will need hardware store stick-on 'hangers' affixed to the backs of these so you can hang them. They deserve a space on your wall for endless enjoyment. Art Deco era...circa 1920s.
