In case you missed the 1980s, the TV show DYNASTY was all the rage. It was a prime-time television soap opera that aired from 1981 to 1989. The series revolved around the Carringtons, a wealthy oil family. It starred John Forsythe, Linda Evans and Joan Collins as oil magnate Blake Carrington, his new wife Krystle, and his former wife Alexis. During the fourth season, actress Diahann Carroll joined the show as Blake's illegitimate African American half-sister, Dominique Deveraux. The show eventually became the #1 series on American television.
It was the posh lifestyle, the catfights, the fabulous Nolan Miller fashions, the catfights, the eye-popping jewels, and the catfights that kept viewers coming back for more every week. The show had more twists and turns than Lombard Street in San Francisco.
This 1980s DIAHANN CARROLL jewelry set captures the opulence of the show and the dramatic elegance of Dominique Deveraux. The pendant is goldtone with big purple and pink and olive rhinestones. It measures 2 3/8 by 2 3/4 inches. The chain measures 18 inches around. Still has its original tag.
The clip-back earrings measure 7/8 inch each way and are still on the original card. The pendant is also hallmarked on the back. It's all in excellent unworn condition. And you don't have to get into a catfight to get it.
