Alexis Kirk Bold Lucite & Aluminum Neck Clamper Necklace

The Duchess of Windsor once said 'I am absolutely fascinated by fake jewellery - ... I think it is so good'. And she knew good fake jewellery when she saw it which is why she owned a number of pieces made by designer Alexis Kirk (1936 - 2010).

Kirk had many celebrity clients including Cher and Jacqueline Kennedy, Nancy Reagan and Barbara Bush. His first jewelery collection won him a Coty American Fashion Critics Award.

This is one of his great classic statement necklaces. It's made of smooth gleaming curved aluminum that ends in a pair of ivorytone Lucite 'tusks'. It's a simple design...bold and naturally organic.

The necklace is on a spring hinge which comfortably hugs the neck. It's pure in form and bold in style. It measures 7/8 inch at the widest of the metal. It's about 15 inches around the inside circle to where the 'tusks' cross. The back is signed ALEXIS KIRK. The necklace is in excellent condition. The good news is that you don't have to mortgage your house to wear jewelry like a Duchess and First Lady.
