Vintage CADORO Faux Pearl Necklace w/ Big Bakelite Beads

Cadoro jewelry is rare. The company was founded by actor Steve Brody and Dan Staneskieu in 1945 and ceased production circa 1970. The jewelry was custom-designed, very high-fashion, well-made with quality components, and coveted by avant garde women in fashion and the arts.

Endless faux pearls and big octagons of genuine Bakelite? This combination was the 'odd couple' of costume jewelry. But Cadoro did it in a big way. A long way.

This faux pearl necklace measures 46 inches around. The olive drab green Bakelite beads measure 7/8 inch wide by 1 1/4 inches long and are capped with rhinestone rondelles. They intersperse along the triple strands of lustrous faux pearls.

There's a slide-in clasp and the CADORO oval brass hangtag. The necklace is in excellent condition. In all the many years we've been at this, this is our first Cadoro piece. It was well worth the wait.
