Victorian Art Nouveau Naughty Lady Bronzed Figurine Jennings Brothers

Don't be fooled by that sweet innocent face. This demure damsel made of bronzed metal is in fact a vixen. She's disguised in that draping robe she's wearing but lift up each side and goodness gracious, she's in a scanty bathing suit with her 'girls' uncovered. Pretty racy for the Victorian era but the Jennings Brothers (Bridgeport Conn.) liked making naughty lady figurines and people loved them back then. (We think this one was actually called 'Naughty Maiden' by the company.)

This lady is pretty captivating and immodestly reclined. She's made of bronzed copper and where the bronzing is worn, the copper shines through with a glowing warm patina.

The figurine measures 5 1/2 inches long by 3 1/4 inches high. Opened up, the figure and robe are 5 3/4 inches across. The bottom is marked JB 2039 and there's green felt there to protect the furniture.

The hinges work well. Overall condition is excellent. Circa 1900. This piece is hefty...makes quite the paperweight and conversation piece.
