Orig. 1946 TOM MIX Ralston Cereals ~ Look Around ~ Premium Ring
In 1933, the Ralston-Purina company produced a Tom Mix radio series called Tom Mix Ralston Straight Shooters which was popular throughout the 1930s through the early 1950s. Radio and print ads for Ralston offered Tom Mix radio premiums during that time. You'd have to send in a boxtop and 10 cents to get your 'official' Tom Mix premium. Kids loved and cherished these premiums.
This is the 1946 Tom Mix 'Look Around' radio premium ring. It's made of stamped brass and has a little 'window' for looking through. It's stamped with the ~TM~ Tom Mix 'brand' logo. As shown, this is a kid size 2 but the ring is adjustable and can be opened up to fit an adult.
The top measures about 1/2 inch each way. The ring shows its original aged patina...we don't polish these old treasures as most collectors prefer them as found. It's in excellent vintage condition. It's a rare piece of old radio / western Americana.
