Schafer & Vater Jasperware Vase Planter Girl w/ Basket

She's doing a little curtsy, with a bow in her hair and a basket on her arm. This early 1900s Jasperware vase is made of finely ground stoneware that resembles porcelain bisque. The vase has a pale green/gray tint and the little girl is a thick detailed white cameo in relief. She stands out against the darker shade of green/gray with a fancy gilded raised 'frame'.

This was made in the early 1900s, most likely by German maker Schafer & Vater.

The vase has an Art Nouveau look with ornate scrollwork around the bottom and around the flowing top. There's a little girl's face peeking out of the foliate at the top.

The vase measures 3 1/4 inches across the base by 6 1/2 inches high. There are a couple of numbered impressions at bottom...the maker's style numbers. The vase shows some natural nuances associated with this stoneware. Through a magnifier, we can see some very teeny nips at top inner edge that are not discernable from the front. Overall, this beautiful vase is in excellent condition.
