Rare Early Black Americana Humidor- Young Servant Girl

This rare antique German bisque humidor features an adorable young black servant girl (slave) from the antebellum era. She is really beautiful with gorgeous brown skin and pronounced dimples in either cheek. She is smiling with some teeth showing and is wearing a striped head scarf and earrings. She is in great condition with no cracks, chips, or hairlines.. just a couple of firing flaws to note. One "pinhead" dimple in her forehead which gives her character and a little "wart" on her nose (area of extra porcelain):0). Tiny rub to nose. Please see photos. The paint is in really good to excellent condition. Normally these are found with the paint quite worn. She even has most of her lip color still in place! She measures 5" high by 4 1/2" wide and is sure to warm your heart. Circa 1880-1900, Germany. A great piece for the collector of Black Americana or tobacciana. Once upon a time this rare humidor was featured on the cover of the Black Americana collector's guide book and valued at over $400. This was some 15 years ago. The value has gone way up since then.
