18" Alexander Compo 1939 SCARLETT O'HARA Tagged Taffeta

Miss Scarlett is so lovely in her green taffeta gown and fabulous point-woven straw bonnet. She is in very excellent condition and the gown is tagged `"Scarlett O'Hara" // by Madame Alexander N.Y., U.S.A. // All Rights Reserved'.

Her sweet face has a demure expression with light-green eyes, full `brush' upper lashes, painted lower lashes and grey shading under feathered brows, plus her cheeks are rosy; black human hair wig is perfect and full and still in factory-pinned curls.

Full-skirted gown has an organza ruffle around the collar, with chartreuse satin ribbons on the shoulders and around the waist (taffeta has changed to a nice bronze shade, as most of the 30s-50s taffeta colors change; small section of melt to organza on left shoulder, hidden under bow). Gown has attached long cotton petticoat plus pantaloons underneath (petticoat hoop-wiring is out); fine natural-straw hat has matching satin ribbon and bow, with a band of cloth flowers across the crown. Perfect original side-snap shoes with satin bow on toes complete Scarlett's outfit; from a non-smoking home.
