Large size brilliant cut designed RARE SET Gorgeous coin silver Bigelow Bros. & Kennard matching set of Sugar & Creamer, weighing a total 28.59 troy oz of pure coin silver is in excellent condition with hand-engraved “1858” inside each base. Both pieces are marked: "Bigelow Bros. & Kennard” arched over "(eagle & British pounds-L hallmarks) // PURE COIN // BOSTON”. Flame- and dripping water-like designs among scrolling acanthus surrounds a cartouche with hand-engraved gothic "A B" monogram. Heavily embossed gourd-tops are at each end of the handles. There is a lovely applied fluid border around the creamer rim. Sugar Bowl: 8" tall including separate tightly-fitted lid with finial, 6" wide across the handles, and 5.25” front-to-back Creamer: 6.25" tall at top of handle, 5" wide from handle to spout, 3.5” front-to-back There are no repairs and only sugar bowl has a 3/8” dent above cartouche on the side with monogram. This stunning set comes from the original family non-smoking home.
