1960's Olge Cassini Mod Felt and Leather Hat

The hat measures approx. 7" high x 7 1/2" from front to back at it's opening & is 23 1/2" around the bottom trim.

Oleg Cassini was born in 1913 & died in 2006. He was born in France but lived in Russia. His father was a Russian diplomat. In 1918 during the Russian Revolution, his family fled to Italy. His mother had her own fashion shop in Florance. Oleg Cassini became an American designer & during his career designed clothes for such influential people as Jacqueline Kennedy, Rita Hayworth, Betty Grable, Joan Crowford, Marilyn Monroe, Renee Zellweger, Kim Basinger & Taylor Swift to mention just a few. His creations were in films too numerous to mention & among his many contemporary designs were "The Jackie Look", the A-line, The Sheath & the Empire Strapless which remain influential & dominant today. He is recognized as being the single biggest fashion influence in history.
