Early 20th Century English Sterling Silver Presentation Christening Bowl with Spoon & Napkin Ring
A boxed presentation christening set comprising the original plain silver bowl, hallmarked Chester 1907, made and retailed by the Alexander Clark Manufacturing Co., an associated napkin ring (1 ¾ inches in diameter), and an earlier fiddle pattern sterling silver spoon hallmarked London 1824; Maker William Chawner. While the latter two pieces are not part of the original set, they were used as such. Height of bowl 2 1/8 inches; diameter 4 3/8 inches. Weight 99 grams. Length of spoon 5 5/8 inches. Weight 24 grams. All in a velvet-lined, red leather case with gilt tooled outline. Case measures 7 ¼ inches by 7 inches by 4 ½ inches. Condition: case is in very good condition except for a split on bottom; bowl had a few minor dents and minor interior salt marks.
