Hand Painted Limoges Monk Tankard Signed BRAUER

This tankard, or mug, features a monk preparing to enjoy a glass of red wine. The artwork is superbly hand painted and very realistic. it is painted on a blank from William Guerin, Limoges France, mark 3 in use between 1900-1932. It is artist signed J. BRAUER (Julius Brauer). Brauer worked for Pickard Company in Chicago before opening his own china decorating studio in 1903. This stein is 6" tall and 4 1/4" wide at the base. It is in excellent condition. An absolute beauty!!
