Antique Ironstone Covered Footed Tureen Hyacinth Burgess Circa Mid 1800s

This antique white ironstone covered and footed tureen is beautiful and impressive, measuring 12 inches handle to handle and 6 1/2 inches by 9 3/8 inches across the top rim. With cover in place, it is approximately 6 1/4 inches to top of handle.

Both cover and bowl have an embossed bellflower floral pattern, referred to as hyacinth, and similar to the lily shape.

Base has the black under glaze mark of H. Burgess, Burslem, and dates circa mid 1800s.

There are no stains inside the bowl and very little signs of use. No chips, cracks or repairs. Only minor faults are some wear to the glaze on the sides of one handle and a few small stain marks on the rim.

This lovely early tureen is in wonderful condition
