Laurence Foss Sterling Earrings Arts & Crafts 1940s

We are offering these handwrought sterling silver Arts & Crafts screwback earrings designed by Laurence Foss. The naturalistic design has a beautiful balance of an applied leaf, bead and curlicue against a darkened background. They are gorgeous!

These earrings are circa late 1940s to early 1950s, when Laurence Foss designed for George Jensen USA. The round disc measures 3/4 inch.

Reverse bears the Foss divided triangle trademark and the number 450. They are clearly marked sterling in two places.

They are in very good condition, with no dings or damage. Background does exhibit slight variance in the intensity of color, which I consider normal. The contrast between the applied design and the darkened background is wonderful. Their simplicity makes them suitable for a wide range of outfits, from jeans or slacks to suits or dresses. Very versatile.
