Vintage Art Deco Bronzed Elephant Bookends Nuart NY

These circa 1920s Art Deco bookends feature mother and baby elephants with upraised trunks, and are marked Nuart NYC NY USA. They are made of metal, with a bronzed or patinated finish, and are quite heavy, weighing a little over two pounds each.

They are in excellent condition, with no breaks or serious faults. The bronzed finish on the elephants is still bright and has only a few small losses, most on the side of one baby's trunk.

They each measure 4 1/4 inches high at the domed back and 5 1/4 inches wide across the back. Largest elephant is 4 3/4 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches high from the platform to the top of his trunk.

They are not only beautiful, but have a nice substantial weight to hold your books securely.
