We are offering this exceptional and ornate rococo photograph frame made for Stern Brothers, New York, dating late 1800s early 1900. Frame is oval in shape, with a variety of swirls, scrolls, foliage and flowers covering the entire frame and feet. Frame, back plate and easel are all gilded brass or bronze.
It stands 7 inches high and 4 1/2 inches wide. Photo area is 5 1/2 inches by 4 inches.
Frame has mellowed in appearance over the years and has a fabulous untouched patina. Condition is excellent, with no breaks or repairs, and no damage to the easel back. It still retains the old convex glass, and a ring on the back for hanging.
