These vintage Blackamoor California Pottery candle holders were made by Brayton Laguna, and feature seated Blackamoor boys. I'm certain they must represent Princes, with their jeweled turbans. One has turquoise/white striped pants, the other burgundy/white. Brayton Laguna was founded in 1927 and closed in 1968.
Figures measure nearly 5 inches high and 4 inches wide at the bottom. Company name was stamped on the base and has faded over the years. Brayton is still visible on one.
There are no chips, cracks or damage. The turquoise figure does exhibit crazing, when examined up close with a loupe. The jeweled turban and shoes are enhanced with gold. Colors remain bright and vivid, like the day they were made, with a high gloss finish.
