Repousse Art Framed Floral Print
These 2 lovely collectibles are floral prints that has been done in an art called "repousse". It is a french art whereby a print is soaked until soft and is then gently pressed until stretched, and layered over clay or mache to create a raised focal area. In these prints all the flower petals are dimensional and are raised out to 1/8 to 1/4 " dimension. This repousse work dates back to the early 1900's. The pair of prints are framed in lovely old frames. They measure 5x7 inches and would look lovely sitting on small easels.
