c.1870s Victorian Staffordshire Wash Set, Brownfield's Pottery
Dimensions:
Soap dish: 6 1/8" x 4 1/2"; the base is perforated for drainage.
Toothbrush or razor holder: 5 1/4" high with a 2 3/8" top opening; the interior bottom has a perforated disk (non-removable) about 1 1/2" up from the bottom for drainage.
Pitcher: 6" high and approximately 5 1/2" in diameter at its widest. Please note the pitcher has no spout.
Bowl: 10 3/8" top diameter, 3 1/2" high.
Mug: 3 1/4" high, base diameter 3 5/8".
Slop jar: 12" high with a top diameter of 8 1/2" and approximately 12" handle to handle.
The soap dish is marked with the Brownfield Trade Mark mark, used 1871-1891. The toothbrush holder and pitcher have only the impressed Brownfield's mark, dating to c. 1860. The slop jar has only the British Registry lozenge, and we cannot decipher the date.
