Six 6 c.1800's butter pats; these Victorian transferware pottery butter pats with a scalloped edge and a beautiful gilded moss green flower pattern are being offered for your consideration. The set is in excellent vintage condition, all are marked on the back with an impressed star and 5 are additional marked with an impressed 'PG'. We have been unsuccessful in tracking down the manufacturer that used this mark. They measure 3 inches in diameter and on close examination display age appropriate light utensil marks and crazing. They also have the era typical manufacturing anomalies; glaze pits, 'dust' bumps, stilt marks, glaze skips, iron specks and 2 display manufacture firing flaws. One has a small glazed over firing flaw on the foot ring ( bottom area that actually sets on the table ) and the second one has a glazed over firing flaw on the rim's edge. The craftsman placed the floral transfer, so that the small manufacturing flaw is easily overlooked in the floral design. All of the pats are free of stains, are bright white and the glaze is shiny. A wonderful gift for the butter pat collector and a great addition to your tableware collection for display or use at your next gourmet gathering! (1192-999) ***********
