La Belle China's Celery / Asparagus Dish * circa 1898 * - American Beauty Roses Pattern

La Belle China's 13.8-inch celery / asparagus dish or server in the their famous American Beauty Roses pattern is being offered for your consideration. This beauty retains 75-80% of it's gold edge trim and has no chips, staining or cracks. It does have era typical production anomalies; glaze pits, glaze skips, dust 'bumps', transfer skips and folds, stilt marks and iron specks from the manufacturing processes. There is also age appropriate light crazing and some light rub wear to the finish, nothing in our opinion that detracts from its stunning appeal only that that affirms its age and authenticity. It was produced by the Wheeling Pottery (WP on the mark) of Wheeling, West Virginia between 1879-1910. It is 13.8 inches long, 2 5/8 inches tall and 4 3/4 inches wide; which made it very appropriate, useful and attractive for serving asparagus, celery or many other dishes and condiments. The dish is a magnificent addition to any tableware collection, a fabulous condiment or hors' d ourve server for your next gourmet or holiday gathering not to mention a fine display piece!
