Antique Victorian Ruby Cut to Clear Engraved Art Glass Vase Grapes and Vines

This stunning piece of history is a European art glass vase dates to the late 1800s and was likely produced in the Bohemian region of Europe. The glass is ruby red cased over clear glass. The ruby has been engraved to cut through to the clear layer leaving a frosted image of grapes and vines. This piece is Eggerman in style but appears to be older that that. I believe it could date back as early as the mid 1800s. It has a rough pontil on the base and a few inclusions in the glass.

This piece measures 6 1/2" tall and 3 1/2" in diameter at the widest point of the ruffled rim. It is in good condition but does have one small chip on the underside of the rim and some water residue inside the foot. It is an excellent example of antique art glass and would look wonderful in any collection or period home.
