Kaj Franck Tulip Vase 1950s Amber Sommerso Signed Nuutajarvi Notsjo Art Glass

Nuutajarvi is the oldest glass factory in Finland. Established in 1793 it traversed several incarnations before kaj Franck was brought on board in 1950 and redesigned some of the companies utilitarian glassware. He continued working there until 1976 and then as a free lance designer until 1989.

I am extremely pleased to offer you this signed Kaj Frank vase from the early 1950s period. It is a small, lobed vase with a rich honey amber cased in clear crystal. In Italy this style of design is refereed to as Sommerso glass.

This piece measures 4 3/8" in height and 2 5/8" in diameter at the widest point. The base is signed "K Franck, Nuutajarvi, Notsjo 5?". I cannot make out what the second number of the date is.

In excellent condition it has no chips, nicks or cracks at all and just a little light wear from age.
