Britannia Railroad Steam Engine Train Ashtray Vintage Gray's Pottery England

This charming vintage pottery ashtray was produced bt Gray's Pottery in Staffordshire England and is decorated by the famous steam engine "Britannia". The Britannia was built in 1951 at Crewe and was the first of 55 Britannia class locomotives.

This fabulous souvenir ashtray may have been used on the train or sold elsewhere as a souvenir. It would make a wonderful addition to any Railroadiana collection. It is a creamy white in color with a red trim. It measures 8 1/4" in diameter and about 1 3/4" in height.

In good condition it has no chips, nicks or cracks but there are a couple of minor flaws to note. There is some all over crazing in the glaze. There is also some minor stains on the inside of the ashtray.
