James Kent Rhine Antique Transferware Blue White Pottery Serving Dish Lid

This stunning antique pottery serving piece was produced by James Kent and is part of their Rhine pattern. The pattern features a river image on the top center with a small rowing boat in the foreground, trees to the left, buildings to the right and a bridge and pyramids in the background. It is a blue and white transferware pattern with faded gold trim.

The dish is a covered serving dish of some kind, perhaps for vegetables. There is a notch in the lid through which a spoon would sit.

This piece measures 7" long and 5" in height. It's in fairly good condition. It has a little crazing on the lid and one small chip on the foot, also some light wear from age. It is a piece full of character and history and would serve a purpose whether decorative or on the dining table.
