This beautiful Ruby Stained EAPG Souvenir mug is a little different from those one usually sees. Most souvenir pieces carry an engraving of a persons name or a place plus a date. This one instead reads "Just one Girl" with the date of 1906. Such a simple 3 word remark and yet it leaves me wondering who this one girl was, and what she meant to the person that had the engraving done. Perhaps she was a child lost too soon, or maybe it was a statement of commitment between young lovers. We shall never know but thanks to this antique souvenir their memory will linger on.
The pattern on this mug is called Arched Ovals, it was produced by Ripley in the 1880s and later sold by U.S. Glass in 1905. The date of 1906 on the engraving helps us date it with some accuracy.
The mug measures 2 3/8" tall and 2 1/8" in diameter. in very good condition it has no chips, nicks or cracks at all. The ruby stain is in excellent condition with a teeny tiny bit of wear but this is barely noticeable at all.
