The danish Kluk Kluk or Cluck Cluck decanter is one of my favourite forms in Scandinavian art glass design. Produced by Holmegaard in the 1950s these decanters have a squared shape which is formed by the pinching in of four sides of the bottle leaving a central channel and four outer channels through which the liquid can flow. The name Kluk or Cluck comes from the sound which is emitted from the bottle as one pours from it.
This example is a stunning smoke grey in color with a matching stopper. It measures 12 3/4" tall and 4 1/2" across the diagonal on the base. It has a ground and polished pontil on the base.
In excellent condition it has no chips, nicks or cracks at all.
