This lovely little ring is a pear shaped deep blue spinel center stone with 6 (.05 pt. cw each) round brilliant cut diamonds surrounding it. The ring is a size 5-1/2 but totally sizable as all stones are prong set. It is marked "10k" inside the band and there is a photo, however, these are generally hard to read so gold tested and it is 10k. The stones have been tested as well and the blue stone is a spinel and the little surrounding stones are diamonds. The ring weighs 1.9 grams. The blue spinel looks to be about .75 pts. of a carat in total weight and it is pear shaped.
This would be a lovely first ring for a young lady or first birthstone ring. The spinel is so closely associated with Sapphires and Rubies, it would qualify as a birthstone ring for the month of September. Spinels and Rubies and Sapphires all belong to the Corundum family and are definitely related.
