Crystal Bell Shaped Lidded Candy Bowl

This wonderful example of European crystal is being offered for sale. The bowl has that very regulated wheat shaft pattern all the way around with thumb nail fluting around the top and under side of the bottom. The lid also shows the 7 shaft wheat design around it and has a flat octagonal shaped diamond cut top knob. The bottom of the bowl is slightly domed and has the typical mum design. The bowl stands 3-1/4" high without the lid. With the lid it is 5-1/4" high to the top of the knob. The bowl diameter opening is just over 3". The bottom of the bowl has an inverted mushroom design and is 5" in diameter. This piece is in pristine vintage condition and comes from the estate of an elderly friend who is leaving the state. He and his wife visited Ireland and the Waterford factory in the mid 1980s and he thinks this may have come from there but it is not signed. It is, however, extremely heavy which is usual for Waterford or any fine European leaded crystal piece.
