This old presentation box probably held 2 sterling salts. The company was Mappin & Webb - Goldsmiths & Silversmiths #2 Queen Victoria Street London.
The box is lined with cream satin and Royal blue compartments & roping. It has as dome top and looks like a small treasure chest. The lock works fine.
I have left the box in its original condition and not touched it up with any leather cleaner. It would clean up beautifully and any scratches would be covered if you wish to do so. Circa late 1800's.
