Acquired from an English estate, this magnificent brooch is all handmade and in very good antique condition. The citrine is quite a thick stone and when light shines through it, the yellow is so intense and radiates like the sun.
The stone's casing is a combination of a deep open bezel with small prongs all the way around for additional support and security.
Outer citrine frame is hollow though it looks quite substantial and has a mix of leaves, fleur de lis and other decorative accents.
One leaf has a slight dent on the front, and the other small dent is along the outer side. There are six small pin size holes on the front in various areas. There are also solder marks from repair.
Weighs 12.20 grams. Citrine measures 15 x 20mm.
Original latch closure. Stamped 9kt on pin/needle and also 9ct is etched on the back of the brooch. It has a safety chain for extra security.
Brooch measures 2 1/4" across and 1 3/4" down the center.
