Fabulous Japanese 950 Silver Cigarette Case, Early 20th

A large & impressive case, this is 950 fine silver and weighs in at over 204 grams.

Beautifully hand engraved on both sides with Herons & Iris and intricate background engraving, this case measures 6.5" x 3.25". Piano hinge and spring latch opening.

Personal engraving upper left exterior in the cartouche on one side, initials M G (these are faint, easily replaced with your own personalization on request.) On the left side of the polished interior an inscription reads: To Ojiisan Gifford from Mitts Bill Maurice. (Interior engraving is deep & cannot be successfully removed.) Fancy movable elasticized silver interior holder.

CONDITION: Very fine antique condition with fastidious hand engraving. No damage to note. No warping. Spring latch functions as it should. Polished interior. Markings: STERLING 950 (interior, bottom right.) Weight by scale: 6.68 troy ounces. Art Nouveau, early 20th century.
