Gorgeous Figural Victorian Paper Clip - Sterling

Weighing in at 33.6 grams, it measures 50mm wide x 60mm long x 15mm high. There is what I think is an engraved personalization to the blank bombay cartouche which I cannot decipher - but because the piece is so heavy, I believe we could replace whatever is there with your own initials.

CONDITION: Very good antique condition with the expected surface wear to the underside. Markings: STERLING on the front just above the cartouche. Origin is unknown, but likely American.
