A large & impressive Carnelian Cameo is carved in 3 strata and set in a heavy 14K hand crafted mount. The mount is exquisitely detailed in Etruscan motifs and set with a small Diamond above the Cameo.
The top of this ring measures a full 1" north to south, and covers the finger from east to west. It rises .25" up off the finger top. The shank is .25" wide near the top, narrowing to .125" at the underside. Currently a size 7.25, we can custom size this down 1 full size or up as much as 1.75 to suit without compromising the integrity of the shank. (Never a charge for custom sizing our precious metals rings.)
CONDITION: Excellent antique condition with no damage and only light historic wear to note. Cameo is well carved in good detail with no worn down areas. Gold mount is 14K red & yellow. Markings: 14K (confirmed by acid testing) and the remains of some Maker's lettering. The Cameo likely pre-dates the mount. Ring can use a cleaning which will be done by our Jeweler this week. Weight by scale: 10.1 grams. Of Italian origin.
