Dating to the late Victorian/early Edwardian period this watch chain is substantial, elegant and perfectly sized to wear on the neck.
The links have a glowing patina and sensuous feel and each is marked for 9 Ct. They are open capsule links, connected with 3 rounds between each so it sits beautifully on the neck. It didn't come with a toggle, but if you'd like to wear it along with your favorite fob just let me know and I can have a bar added for you.
The necklace (I'm stretching here --- but it is just too lovely not to use it as such) is 56mm (20") long and closes with a large early spring ring, though a gold dog clip is an easy replacement for us if you would prefer that. The links measure 7mm wide (better than .25") so this does make an impressive statement on the neck.
CONDITION: Excellent antique condition with no damage, losses or repairs to note. The warm, earned patina delivers a gorgeous glow. A fine heft at 46.3 grams by scale. I find no Makers' Marks remaining.
Our fine jewelry is always beautifully presented and shipped at no charge to our clients.
If you've been looking for a gold watch chain - this one is a cut above and definitely worth a second look!
* Not sure why my camera is seeing the color this way but the chain is a deep, warm, rich and lustrous red gold!
