A very handsome fob of good weight is very nicely detailed in tested 14-15K var gold.
The fob features a white Chalcedony seal within a shield form with early English (I think) lettering. I've fiddled with the last photo, reversed the print and distorted the coloration sufficiently to decipher it --- to no avail! I do see an R --- possibly 2 old T's, but perhaps one of you out there can make out the rest, in which case perhaps we can possibly deduce the meaning - unless its' an acronym!
The fob has a very nice heft and measures .75" x .75" across the shield, standing 1" high excluding the bale. It is a rich slightly pink gold and is likely British or from one of the British Colonies.
CONDITION: Very fine overall antique condition with no issues to note. Slight evidence of wax in the lettering indicates the fob was once used as a seal. Early 19th Century.
