An exquisitely rendered painting probably of pastels and pencil depicts a Georgian gentleman mounted in an 18K frame with a surround of natural Pearls.
The finished piece measures 2.5" x 2" and the portrait is under its' original slightly domed crystal. To the verso is space for a memento. A drop down bale for hanging from a ribbon or chain and an extended pin on the broaching assembly.
CONDITION: Very fine antique condition with expected age related minute soiling to the underside of the glass near the very bottom of the painting visible on magnified camera inspection. A superb little piece! Signature in green, lower right side is no longer legible. Original broaching assembly with extended stickpin is original to the pin and remains fully functional. Drop down bale is likely original. Hand crafted mount tests to 18K, yellow gold. Natural Silver Gulf Pearls all appear to be original to the mount and remain in excellent condition. 18th Century, Georgian.
