An large but understated solid Platinum bar pin is centered with a .45 carat Old European Diamond set in a raised & cut back, push over mount, 2 Carre Cut (square) bezel set natural Blue Sapphires totaling .30 carat and finished with 2 collet set Diamonds totaling .20 carat all in an elaborate pierced & elongated navette shaped mount.
This hand crafted brooch is both stately & graceful. It is also wonderfully dimensional gracefully domed towards the center following the lines of the raised center stone.
The pin is 3.25" long and 1 full inch north to south in the center tapering down towards the navette pointed ends. The early safety clasp and broaching assembly are original to the piece.
CONDITION: Excellent antique condition with only the most minute signs of historic wear. This piece was executed with the finesse expected of the finest Edwardian jewelry. Gorgeous filigree & piercing is accented by Acanthus Leaves. Original platinum broaching assembly remains sturdy and fully functional. A very nice heft at 8.7 grams by scale. Antique gemstones are not rated as modern cuts. The Sapphires are intense blue sl/V/Bl 5-5. Diamonds G-H color. A tiny bend at the tip of the stickpin is presently being corrected by our Jeweler. Acid & Electronically tested to Platinum. Typically, there are no Markings. Origin is unknown.
