A very highly detailed chatelaine retains its' original clip and was likely worn from the waist.
The case is glassed at the back and has a top hole to accommodate a pair cased watch. A center chain would facilitate either a watch key or a seal.
The chatelaine measures 5.75" top to bottom and the watch case is .75" in depth and 1.75" across. Original glass is in excellent condition.
CONDITION: Excellent antique condition. No dints or losses. Watch case closes and opens as it should. No warping. Ornate workmanship is elaborate and well detailed. Unmarked but tests to high grade silver. Origin is unknown. A Hallmark on the clip is too worn to decipher. Weight by scale: 56.4 grams. 19th century, Continental.
