Ruby and Golden Vermeil Earrings

20 karats of luscious red Ruby are highlighted by two pairs of golden Vermeil wafers to create this beautiful and stylish pair of earrings. Makes a great gift for those born in July, but will be appreciated by those born in the other eleven months as well.

Rubies are the second hardest minerals on earth and come from all over the world, with South West Asia producing some of the world’s best rubies. The name comes from the Latin word meaning red. Rubies can vary in color from pink to ‘pigeon blood’ red. It is the gemstone associated with the month of July and the stone for the 40th wedding anniversary.

Vermeil is sterling silver heavily electroplated with 22K gold.

Length: 1.5 inches.

Bead size: 8 x 11 mm ruby rondelles.

Earrings: Lever backs and all other metal components are of 14K gold-fill. 14K Gold-Filled (14K GF) beads are made by bonding a layer of 14K gold with high pressure and heat to base metal and then shaped as desired. Industry standard requires that the quantity of gold be at least 1/20th of the total weight and the Karat measurement must be marked.

Care: Clean with soft fabric, or non-abrasive polishing cloth. Avoid direct contact with perfumes, hairspray, and deodorants. Jewelry should be worn after application of cosmetics. Store wrapped in soft fabric or sealed in plastic bag.
