Duncan Phyfe Sofa Table by Charak
This solid mahogany drop leaf sofa table was made by the highly respected Charak Furniture Company of Boston, Mass. The top measures 43" wide with the leaves down. Each leaf measures 11" long. There are wooden winged supports which swing out to support the leaves. When both leaves are supported, the table measures 64" long. There are two drawers with flame mahogany fronts and their original brass pulls. Notice the elegantly, lyre shaped sides resting on saber legs with acanthus leaf carvings and brass capped feet. The finish is original and in excellent condition having a deep, rich color and patina. Imagine this table behind a sofa, between 2 chairs in your living room or in your grand entryway. 29.5"h X 64"w X 21.75"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1940's.
