This solid mahogany bench or custom-made sideboard is in the Hepplewhite style. It design and construction is of exceptional quality. The cabinetmaker used the choicest wood and even expertly arranged the flame mahogany graining to flow from one drawer to the next. In the center are 2 small drawers over 2 larger drawers over one long drawer. All the drawers are exquisitely hand dovetailed and retain their original oval brasses. The bowed front doors on each end have their original key escutcheons and working locks with a key. Inside, each has an adjustable shelf. The drawers have a unique locking system by inserting a wooden pin into the back of the drawer. The server rests on tall, narrow, tapered legs. The front leg, just left of the drawers, has been professionally repaired. The finish is in excellent condition and has a lovely color and patina. 40.75"h X 72"w X 25.5"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1940's.
