Chippendale Mahogany Bookcase, China Cabinet
This solid mahogany bookcase is in the Chippendale style and is of exceptional quality. The top has a rope carved or gadrooned edge with acanthus leaf carvings in the corners. Each glass door has gothic arched glass panels along the top with 16 small panes of glass below. The doors retain their original working lock with key. Inside are 3 adjustable original wooden shelves. Notice the delicate looking reeded quarter columns in the front corners and the carved gadrooning along the base of the bookcase. The bookcase rests on boldly carved ball and claw feet with acanthus leaf carvings on their knees. The finish is original and in excellent condition having the richest color and desirable patina. 61"h X 54"w X 14"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1890-1910.
