Rare, Wedgwood, Begonia Leaf, Cane-ware Plate

Here we have, a very nice, early, Wedgwood, Cane-ware plate, in the Begonia Leaf, or Cabbage Leaf pattern. It is the natural color of the slip, poured into the mold, with it being a beige color, and no glaze. These were used mostly for Majolica pieces, but here we have one that is undecorated. It is marked on the back, O, WEDGWOOD! It measures 7 1/2" wide, and is 3/4" high. Dates to the mid 1800's, and is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is a little light discoloration around the edge in a couple of spots, either from age or firing of the piece. Very nice, early piece, to add to a collection, and one not found that often!!!
