Here we have, a very nice, 1890, yellow opalescent, thorn vase, made by either Webb, or John Walsh Walsh. According to my Victorian glass book, both companies made this style of vase. This one is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs, but does have one nick on one of the thorns. Felt it with my finger tip, and you can hardly notice it. It measures 4" high, 1 1/8" wide at the top, and is 2 1/4" wide at the tree root style feet. The base is ground smooth. Nice opalescence around the top, and some on the base. It does glow a little, but not very much. It has a small amount of uranium oxide in it. The top is flame polished, and smooth. Very nice thorn vase to add to a collection!
