Red, Satin, Mother of Pearl, Mt. Washington, Diamond Quilt, Bud Vase
Here we have, for your consideration, a nice, Mt. Washington, bud vase.
It is in their satin, Mother of Pearl, finish, and is red, fading to a light pink at the base.
The pattern is a Diamond Quilt pattern over the bulbous base, and the neck is a solid red, with a twist.
This piece has three layers of glass, with the interior being white, and a thin layer of clear, and then the red is applied.
No idea as to how they got the pattern on the bottle!
It has three bumps or bruises on the bulbous body, where one spot is inside one of the diamonds, the bubble has popped out, and the other two are just bumps, and the bubble is still intact, but shows.
I have taken photos of all three areas, to show what I am trying to describe.
The base has a ground pontil, and is smooth.
Still a very nice piece, to display. This dates to the late 1880's-90's, so I figure a bump or bruise should be expected, due to the age.
