Here is a unique ginger jar made by the British Manufacturer H. & S. London as indicated in the photo; also note the hand written numbers 223, which often indicated the artist who decorated the piece. Made of fine white porcelain, this exquisite piece was then over-coated with a black matte finish and then hand decorated with enameled cherry blossoms and butterflies, bordered on the top and bottom by a mottled green band edged in gold. Dating around the turn of the last century (1900) it stands 7 1/4" in height and 4 1/2" in diameter at the widest point. In fine condition, it is a stunning piece for anyone's collection!
