William R. Davis Oil Painting "Yachts Racing off Jamestown, RI"
This colorful marine painting was painted by contemporary American artist William R. Davis (1952-). Davis was born in Somerville, Massachusetts, grew up in Hyannis Port, MA and became well-known in New England and across the country as a self-taught artist of luminist marine and landscape paintings. Oil on panel, signed lower left and on verso, along with inscribed title on verso "Yachts Racing off Jamestown, RI," and housed in a black and gold painted wooden frame. Dimensions: 10" h x 8" w, actual; 15 ½" h x 13 ½" w, framed.
