William R. Davis Oil Painting Hampton Marsh Sunset NH

This colorful oil painting of a sunset was painted by contemporary American artist William R. Davis (1952-). Davis was born in Somerville, Massachusetts, grew up in Hyannis Port, MA and became well-known in New England and across the country as a self-taught artist of luminist marine and landscape paintings. Oil on panel, signed lower right, inscribed & titled on verso "Hampton Marsh Sunset", and housed in a new gold frame. Dimensions: 10" h x 8" w, actual; 16" h x 14" w, framed.
